The Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to Ethiopia, His Excellency Mr. Idriss Farah, on behalf of family and embassy staff, offers his most painful and saddened condolences to the family, relatives, and friends of the deceased Sultan of Tadjourah, late Abdoulkader Houmed, died in Paris on May 17, 2019.I pay homage, said the Ambassador, to this great patriot who has embodied, beyond his traditional power, a role of conciliator and man of peace at the national level.
Indeed, we all know that the Sultan has fought heart and soul for national unity and has always worked for fraternal coexistence and lasting peace for our country. His career has been exemplary in every respect. His subjects were not limited to Tadjourah but, they extended to the entire national community. We were all sons and he will remain forever etched in our memory.
Son and grandson of sultans, the late Abdoulkader Houmed was born in Tadjourah where, he was enthroned in 1980, after the death occurred to his processor, the late Habib Ahmed.
He leaves behind him a widow and three children. We pray for him and implore the Most High to give him all His Mercy and welcome him to his sweet paradise.
