China - FCR : Djibouti Head of State at the Round Table of the Leaders of the 2nd "Belt and Road" Forum 


The President of the Republic, Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh, took part Saturday morning April 27, 2019, in Beijing, China, at the round table of leaders of the Second Forum of "Belt and Road" for international cooperation. In his opening speech, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for joint efforts by all parties to promote the high-quality development of "Belt and Road". (Source ADI)

Mr. Xi Jinping also called on his peers to implement and advance the joint construction of "Belt and Road" to bring greater benefits to people of all countries. He also highlighted the joint work of all parties to identify priorities for cooperation and focus on improving overall connectivity.

In an important speech he made yesterday at the opening ceremony of the Forum, President Ismail Omar Guelleh said that through this initiative, China proposes the promotion and construction of a new kind of relationship. international organizations and a community of destiny for humanity. "It stands for mutual respect, equal consultation, openness, inclusiveness and reciprocal benefits," he said before adding: "China also stresses, on one approach of global governance characterized by the principle of "dialogue, synergy and sharing", aiming to promote connectivity worldwide.

For the Djibouti Head of State, this is a new way of relations between states based on dialogue and partnership that opens here. "This approach supports, in his view, the multilateral trading system and promotes a more open, inclusive, balanced and beneficial economic globalization for all". It should be noted that President Xi Jinping's initiative, called the Silk Belt and Road, aims to connect the world for better international cooperation.

Since its launch, this initiative has been the major event of modern times in terms of its economic and commercial dimensions.

To date, more than 80 countries are involved in this initiative, for a population of about 5 billion, nearly 80% of the world's population.
