Djibout - African Union: Mr. Ismaïl Omar Guelleh arrived to Addis Ababa for the 32nd Summit of the African Union Djibouti
President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh arrived this Saturday, February 9, 2019, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to take part in the 32nd Ordinary Session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the African Union to be held on February 10 and 11, 2019. (Source ADO) In addition to the Head of State, forty other African leaders and heads of international institutions will participate in this summit of the African Union under the theme: "The Year of Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced People: Towards Solutions sustainable displacement in Africa ". On the sidelines of the summit, President Guelleh will hold a series of meetings and talks in the Ethiopian capital with some of his African counterparts, including Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. African leaders will discuss at this conference the state of peace and security in Africa, the results achieved with regard to the institutional reform of the African Union, and the activation of the continental free trade area. Mr. Ismaïl Omar Guelleh will also attend the ceremony of handover of the periodic presidency of the African Union between the Rwandan president, Mr. Paul Kagame, and his successor the Egyptian president, Mr. Abdel Fattah al-Sissi. Finally, President Guelleh is accompanied in this trip by the head of the Djiboutian diplomacy, Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of Industry, Mr. Ilyas Moussa Dawaleh, the Minister of Energy, Mr. Yonis Ali Guedi, and finally that of Communication, Mr. Abdi Youssouf Sougueh.
