Djibouti - Diplomacy : Meeting of Djiboutian and Egyptian Ministers in Addis Ababa Djibouti's Foreign
Djibouti's Foreign Minister Mahmoud Ali Youssouf and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry held bilateral talks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Thursday, February 7, 2019. The meeting took place on the sidelines of a preparatory meeting for the 32nd summit of the African Union (AU) officially opens tomorrow Sunday in the Ethiopian capital. (Source ADI)
During their discussions, the two men had a full exchange of views on regional and international issues of common interest, including the state of relations between Djibouti and Eritrea, the security situation in Somalia, the latest developments in the Horn of Africa, and finally the conflict in Yemen. The two sides also discussed the plan to create an Egyptian free trade zone in Djibouti. The two ministers also welcomed the excellent bilateral relations between their two sister countries. Finally, they called for the need for total stability in the Horn of Africa, including the economic integration and development of the countries of the region through a program of cooperation.
