Djibouti - Ethiopia : The 15th Joint Djibouti-Ethiopian Ministerial Committee held in Djibouti
A strong Ethiopian delegation led by Foreign Minister Workneh Gebeyehu arrived in Djibouti to participate in the 15th Djibouti-Ethiopia Joint Ministerial Commission, which has just opened on Sunday, January 27, 2019. The Ethiopian Minister has announced to the press that they had come to Djibouti to "strengthen the existing partnership and explore new opportunities for cooperation between the two brother countries", saying that Ethiopia and Djibouti share values, interests and, above all, have a destiny common.
The Foreign Minister stressed that the two countries had set up, in addition to a solid economic link, a joint cooperation in the political, social and educational fields; and that his country attached great importance to the relations between the peoples and the governments of the two countries.
Mr Gebeyehu added that the two countries should explore, in the mutual interest of their peoples, vast opportunities to deepen the huge economic opportunities that exist. For, strengthening trade, business and investment is essential for deepening bilateral relations between Djibouti and Ethiopia.
Ethiopia and Djibouti are the two shareholders of the Addis Ababa-Djibouti railway.
