The participation of President Guelleh in this solemn event testifies to the community of destiny uniting the two countries in the commemoration of the memory of the great war, with filigree blood shed by the tirailleurs Somalis for the liberation of France.
The President of the Republic also attended Sunday afternoon, in the great hall of La Villette, at a Peace Forum bringing together the distinguished guests of France on the themes of peace and security, the environment, development, digital and new technologies, and finally the inclusive economy.
The various panelists, heads of state and government present at the ceremony, welcomed the Forum they wished an event that can be organized now every year.
Mr. Ismaïl Omar Guelleh had the opportunity to share with the illustrious participants Djibouti's vision of safeguarding and strengthening peace and security in the world.
The head of state participated in the conduct of a round table on the fight against global warming, passing in passing the book of the philosopher ecologist Pierre Rhabhi, "The share of the hummingbird", the library of peace . As President Guelleh explained,
"The hummingbird share" of Pierre Rhabhi perfectly illustrates the current state of our country which although not a polluter or emitter of greenhouse gases, contributes nevertheless to the mechanisms of response of the international community against the disturbance climate change, according to its modest means.
Always Sunday in the early evening, Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh met at the Elysee Palace with President Macron. Discussions focused on the state of bilateral relations and the ways and means of further consolidating them in the interest of both countries and peoples.
