Djibouti-China: Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi, participates in the "China International Import Expo"
The President of the Authority of Ports and Free Zones of Djibouti, Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi, took part Monday in Shanghai, China, the work of the forum entitled "China International Import Expo". Organized for the first time by the Chinese government, this forum aims to expose the potential exports of countries and thus to establish a business connection with the Chinese importing community. On the sidelines of this forum, Mr. Hadi, accompanied by his close collaborators, had a series of interviews with high personalities.
He met with COSCO General Manager, Ding Jian Wei, COSCO Shipping Asia West Marketing and Sales Manager, Kang Chuanya. This interview took place in the presence of Captain Maadrid of the national shipping company.
Discussions focused on advancing the development of Djibouti's maritime industry as an important player in the maritime trading system.
Also, the APZFD president had another talk with leaders Yue Guoyong and Zhu Xingiang from Henan Civil Aviation Development, one of China's largest airlines. This carrier will use Djibouti as a transhipment hub for air cargo between China and Africa.
The two sides also discussed transport planning between Djibouti and China with Cargo Lux and intra-Africa with Air Djibouti. The president of the APZFD had a brief conversation with a delegation from the Sifrax group, the port of Lagos, Tican Terminal.
Recall that Mr. Hadi was the managing director of this port where he made reforms to stop the exclusivity of declarations by the shipping lines, by liberalizing them.
To do this, the Tincan delegation congratulated the APZFD President not only for his achievements in Nigeria, but also for all of his initiatives in Djibouti.
It should be noted that this event, inaugurated by Chinese President Xi Jinping, will take place from November 5 to 10, 2018 and has seen the participation of more than 3,500 companies and more than 80 countries around the world.
