The meeting, which was also attended by Eritrean President Yemane Gebreab's special advisor, follows a joint diplomatic action by the states of the sub-region to find a solution to the border dispute that has been pitting a decade our Djibouti to Eritrea.

It should be noted in passing that the meeting between President Guelleh and the Foreign Ministers of the three neighboring countries of Ethiopia, Somalia and Eritrea is taking place in a regional context which has now been appeased by the resolution of the crisis between our Ethiopian and Eritrean neighbors.

Djibouti's head of diplomacy, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, who attended the talks, said he was delighted by the visit of his Eritrean counterpart to Djibouti.

For the Djiboutian Head of Diplomacy, the joint action of neighboring countries, aimed at finding a lasting solution to the border dispute between us and Eritrea, clearly demonstrates that our subregion is in the process of meeting the necessary conditions for Eritrea. regional economic integration.

"With the ongoing settlement of our disputes with Eritrea, our region is now in the process of meeting all the conditions necessary for achieving integrated and sustainable economic development," he said.

Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh echoed his country's determination to work for peace and stability in the region.
