Africa Development: Two billionaires, Mo Ibrahim and Aliko Dangote, and former AfDB President Donald Kaberuka plead for an alliance between the richest countries and African governments.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has put a new partnership with Africa on the agenda of the next G20 summit, to be held on 7 and 8 July in Hamburg. The conference it hosts this week in Berlin, to which several African leaders are invited, should mark the first stage of this new partnership. African Union: Africa wants to ensure effective implementation of the Continental Free Trade Area within a year.

The African Union (AU) aims to begin implementation of its Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA) within one year, AU Commissioner for Trade and Industry said on Tuesday. Albert Muchanga. Forty-four African countries had signed the agreement constituting the CFTA during the one-day special session held in Kigali, capital of Rwanda. This agreement will be subject to ratification by member countries in accordance with their national legislation.

Djibouti: World Capital of Culture and Tourism

Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, President of the European Council of Tourism and Commerce has publicly signed, on April 10, 2018, the official decision naming Djibouti as "The World Capital of Culture and Tourism" for the year 2018.
