African Union : On the way to a enticing economic pan-Africanism

While the creation of the Organization of African Unity was the only historical event to date, the Continental African Free Trade Area is in its turn to become history. This is the first time since 1963 that African leaders have successfully launched a large-scale project for the economic and social development of the continent. In describing the Niamey Summit as historical, Africa's powerful economic partners have not been mistaken.

A dream, an old dream comes true. Considered from the inaugural OAU Summit in May 1963, the African Free Trade Area that we are launching today is one of the most emblematic projects of the African Agenda. The Founding Fathers must be proud of it. Kwame Nkrumah, Jamal Abdel Nasser, Haile Selassie, Hamani Diori and the others must finally say to themselves! Also, allow me, Ladies and Gentlemen, Heads of State and Government, to express our thanks for your support and personal commitment that have allowed this invaluable achievement. Moussa Faki thus began a vibrant speech that moved the assembly. African Union - 33rd Summit : Official Launch of the Continental Free Trade Area 

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Ismail Omar Guelleh, who arrived Saturday, July 6, 2019, to participate in the work of the 33rd summit of the African Union that opened its doors Sunday morning in the capital of Niger, Niamey. The main theme of this foundation is the entry into force of the African Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA) and its official launch.

The President of the Republic, HE Mr. Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, received in the morning of Monday, January 1, 2019, at the presidential palace, the Ethiopian Minister of Finance, Mr. Ahmed Shide. Upon the instructions of Regional Partners' Consultative Summit held in Cairo on 23rd of April 2019, the Foreign Ministers and Senior Officials of the Regional Partners of the Sudan, namely: Chad, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan and Uganda, as well as the Chairperson of the AU Commission, participated in a Follow Up Ministerial Consultative Meeting of the Regional Partners of the Sudan in Addis Ababa on 20th of June 2019 concerning the situation in the Sudan.

Djibouti - Diplomacy: Djibouti Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali Meets Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed

Addis Ababa June 21/2019 The Minister has also delivered a message of condolence sent from President Ismail Omar Guelleh to Prime Minister Abiy in connection to the death of his father. Following the discussion, Djiboutian Foreign Minister, M. Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, said both countries are working together to strengthen their comprehensive bilateral relations.

The President of the Republic, SEM. Isma'l Omar Guelleh, sent Monday, June 17, 2019, a message of condolence to the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed Ali, following the death of his father, occurred during the same day.
