Afrique - Japan : Tokyo International Conference on African Development held in Nairobi, Kenya.

President Ismail Omar Guelleh visited Friday, August 26, 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya, where he attended the opening of the sixth edition of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI). Kenya is the first African country to host this meeting, which, remember, was launched by the Government of Japan to promote African development, peace and security, by strengthening cooperation regarding relationships multilateral and partnership, especially with countries.

IGAD - Somalia: Terrorist attacks will not prevent elections in Somalia

The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), which groups several countries in East Africa, said Monday, August 22, 2016, that the terrorist attacks by Shebab fighters will not prevent Somalia to hold elections credible planned for next September and October. IGAD has criticized the terrorist group it holds responsible for the two explosions that hit Sunday Galkayo town in northern Somalia that left at least 20 dead and 25 wounded.

Djibouti-Transport: The airline Air Djibouti back on the market!

The national airline Air Djibouti conducted August 13, 2016 its first passenger flight from Cardiff (United Kingdom) and Djibouti. The legendary singer of the hard rock group Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinson, was flying the Boeing 737 wearing the colors of the company. The aircraft landed on the runway of the International Airport Ambouli in front of President Ismael Omar Guelleh. Founded in 1963, Air Djibouti is one of the oldest companies in Africa. This passenger flight between Cardiff and Djibouti truly marked the revival of Air Djibouti.

Djibouti-Ethiopia: Statement by HE Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf at the opening of the 14th Ministerial Joint Commission of July 20, 2016 in Addis Ababa

The Djibouti-Ethiopian Joint Ministerial Commission, proved to be an essential framework for dialogue between the Republic of Djibouti and Ethiopia. This committee serves as a platform for both countries and their governments, and allows them to meet face to face to overcome any obstacles that may stand on the quality of bilateral relations and on the path to regional economic integration initiated by the leaders of the two brotherly countries. African Union: The 27th Summit of the African Union closed its doors last Monday

The President of the Republic of Djibouti, His Excellency Ismail Guelleh, Djibouti regained capital after participating in the 27th Summit of the African Union held on 17 and 18 July 2016 in Kigali. For two days, the Heads of State and Government of the 54 countries of the continent were faced with critical issues such as the resurgence of violence in South Sudan, the crisis in Burundi, transnational terrorism, the institution's position African vis-à-vis the International Criminal Court, the eventual reintegration of Morocco in the body and especially the election of a new chairman of the AU Commission.The proposal for a peace plan for South Sudan, the creation of a tax to finance the AU and the establishment of an African passport were three highlights that marked the 27th Summit. But the postponement of the expected election of the successor Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma to head the Commission ultimately did not take place.

Djibouti-Ethiopia : 14th Joint Ministerial Commission

The 14th Joint Ministerial Commission between Djibouti and Ethiopia, which runs from July 18 to 22, 2016 in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, began its work Monday by the meeting of the Committee of Experts, which takes place at the Intercontinental Hotel. The Delegation of Djibouti experts, numbering about fifty members, is led by Yacin Houssein Doualeh, Director of bilateral relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. In addition to this strong delegation, Consul General of the Republic of Djibouti to Dire Dawa, Vice Consul and the Military Attaché of the Embassy of Djibouti, Ethiopia, Colonel Omar Said, have taken part in this important meeting.

The President of the Republic, Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh, strongly condemned the coup attempt failed state dan occurred the night of 16 to 17July, 2016 in Turkey. In a statement after the events that occurred in the Turkish capital Ankara, the head of state reported on its "contempt for those who wanted to take power by force" in this brother country and friend.In its statement, the President said that "the acquisition of power by force is what is most unacceptable." Describing coups as "the most despicable expression that denies people their most legitimate rights comprising freely choose their leaders."

African Union-Kigali: President of the Republic takes part in the 27th AU Summit

The Head of State, His Excellency Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh, arrived Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Kigali, capital of Rwanda, where he takes part in the work of the 27th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the member countries African Union to be held from July 17 to 18, 2016. a strong delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, HE Mr. Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, was already on hand to participate in the various summit preparation. And the main issue of the summit in Kigali remains the succession of South Africa, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, as President of the Commission of the African Union.

Djibouti - Government: 13th Session of the Council of Ministers

The Head of State, His Excellency Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh, chaired the Tuesday, July 12, 2016, the work of the 13th Session of the Council of Ministers. During this meeting, members of the government considered several documents including a bill on the ratification of a financing agreement for the purchase of refined petroleum products. This financing agreement totaling 75 million dollars, is concluded between the Republic of Djibouti and the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation's (IFTC), a subsidiary of the Islamic Development Bank. The value of this package will ensure a regular supply of petroleum products in the country's consumption, and ensure the same time, the establishment of a strategic stock.
