Djibouti - Diplomacy : Candidacy of Djibouti as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council 

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Mohamed Ali Hassan, convened the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Republic of Djibouti and delivered a speech on Djibouti's candidacy for the position of non-permanent member of the Council of United Nations Security. Djibouti - Government : 15th Session of the Council of Ministers 

The Head of State, Mr. Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, presided Tuesday, September 17, 2019, the work of the 15th Session of the Council of Ministers during which the Djiboutian executive examined several texts including a draft relative finance law to the amending budget of the State for the 2019 financial year. The amending budget of the State for the 2019 financial year is in balance, in receipts and in expenditure at the sum of 152 billion francs, an increase of nearly of 5 billion FDJ compared to the Initial Finance Act of the year 2019. South Sudan : A wind of hope is blowing in Juba. 

President Salva Kiir and his main opponent and former vice president, Riek Machar, posted with a smile on September 11, on the forecourt of the presidential palace in Juba. And the handshakes exchanged that day, clearly testify to the progress of peace and the will to accelerate the implementation of the agreement signed on September 12, 2018. This "revitalized" agreement provides for the creation of a "new unified army" and the formation of a "government of national unity".  In a statement to the press, President Salva Kiir and his main opponent Riek Machar declared their readiness to form a unity government on 12 November and to meet that deadline.

Djibouti - Japan : Meeting between Djibouti President and Japanese Prime Minister 

On the sidelines of the 7th edition of the International Conference on the Development of Africa (TICAD), the President of the Republic, Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh, met today in Yakohama with the Japanese Prime Minister, Mr. Shinzo Abe. During this meeting, the Djiboutian Head of State and the Japanese Prime Minister discussed relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries as well as ways and means to strengthen them further. African Union - Japan : Ticad must "take consistent action" on the African continent 

The President of the Republic of Djibouti, His Excellency Mr. Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, traveled to Japan to participate in the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (Ticad) which will be held from August 28 to 30, 2019 in Yokohama.
